Welcome on board -Logos Hope
Feb 12
Since 2009, hundreds of visitors have climbed the gangway of the largest floating book fair-Logos Hope, to meet up their international team and discover what the ship has to offer.
They were here in Cebu from January 11-February 12, 2012. And of course, I didn’t miss the chance to visit and shop for books.
The Logos community composes of unpaid volunteers from different countries who live and work together for one reason and that is “to bring knowledge, help and hope to the other people of the world.”
Before we explore the Book Fair, we took a moment to sit and learn a little about their ship. Then we proceed to the Book Fair. They provide a wide variety of quality literature at affordable prices. Books are for sale, from Fiction to General knowledge, cook books and children’s books. They have accessories, CD’s and souvenir items too. The books are priced in UNITS which means that for 100 units is equal to 100 pesos. It’s surprising that their books are really sold for very low prices; actually I bought 2, a cooking book for my sister and a fiction novel by Karen Kingsbury.
People can also relax and dine in their International Café. You can grab some drink, popcorn and other snacks. Of course I didn’t fail to my have some of my favorite ice cream.yum!

What we experience on board was truly amazing and heartwarming as we know that they don’t just sell books but they travel for a purpose. This example of international cooperation, hope and love is definitely an inspiration to many.
